Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Green Bay, WI    Type: Full Time   Shift: Mon – Fri (6am-4pm) Wage: Starting at $30/hour (Based on Experience)

For more than 40 years, Wisconsin Converting, Inc. has been producing and supplying our customers with high-quality paper bags to fit their every need. We’re looking for individuals to join our team, who will continue to provide the premium product, our customers have come to expect from WCI.

Snapshot: Maintenance Mechanics will perform expert maintenance on our paper converting lines and general facility equipment. This includes responsibility for preventative maintenance and machine installation as well as maintaining necessary tools, parts, and supplies for producing paper bags and troubleshooting repairs throughout the facility..

As a Maintenance Mechanic you will:

  • Contribute to WCI’s culture of accountability, reliability and continual growth, where people are our greatest asset.
  • Join an established maintenance team serving about 20 pieces of equipment and report daily to the Maintenance Manager
  • Identify, monitor and perform troubleshooting for problems and breakdowns of equipment.
  • Maintain and repair production equipment as needed in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.
  • Keep records of work performed and complete history logs.
  • Assure operation of safe and functionally sound equipment.
  • Occasional light building maintenance.

Position Requirements:

  • Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Experience in maintenance or related field required in a manufacturing setting.
  • Effective in dealing with multiple priorities and simultaneous projects.
  • Demonstrate a creative approach and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and understand technical reference manuals.
  • Machining and fabrication experience in an industrial setting
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Able to cooperate and communicate well with others.
  • Well organized and attentive to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of production functions.
  • Knowledge of converting and/or flexographic printing a plus.
  • Perform all job requirements with safety as top priority

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years Industrial Mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to read, understand, and follow technical reference manuals and/or blueprints
  • Understanding of manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance procedures
  • Working knowledge of production functions

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent
  • Secondary education in a mechanical field, preferred.
