Maintenance Technician

For more than 40 years, Wisconsin Converting, Inc. has been producing and supplying our customers with high-quality paper bags to fit their every need. We’re looking for individuals to join our team, who will continue to provide the premium product, our customers have come to expect from WCI.

Snapshot: Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the changeover and set up of converting equipment, preventative maintenance tasks, and building maintenance.  You will be an integral component of optimizing throughput.

As a Maintenance Tech you will:

  • Contribute to WCI’s culture of accountability, reliability and continual growth, where people are our greatest asset.
  • Join an established maintenance team serving about 20 pieces of equipment and report daily to the Maintenance Manager
  • Perform change overs and set up converting equipment
  • Complete daily maintenance tasks and machine adjustments
  • Assure operation of safe and functionally-sound equipment
  • Work closely with machine operators to optimize the quantity and quality of product
  • Troubleshoot machinery issues

Position Requirements:

  • Understanding of equipment operation and industrial maintenance procedures
  • Experience in maintenance or related field in a manufacturing setting
  • Effective in dealing with multiple priorities and simultaneous projects
  • Demonstrate a creative approach and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to read and understand technical reference manuals
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Able to cooperate and communicate well with others
  • Well organized and attentive to detail
  • Basic computer skills

Experience Requirements:

  • On-the-job experience with mechanical and electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of converting and/or flexographic printing preferred
  • Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures
  • Experience in maintenance or related field required in a manufacturing setting

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent
  • Secondary education in a mechanical field, preferred.
