For over 70 years, Wisconsin Converting, Inc. (WCI) has been converting paper into environmentally friendly packaging for retail, food service, and industrial use. We manufacture a complete line of stock and custom printed bags in our Green Bay, Wisconsin facility, specializing in short to medium-sized and custom printed runs. The Materials Handler is responsible for preparing and staging materials for production and shipping functions. This includes processing, checking, verifying materials received as well as completing related computer entries and documentation. Stores inventory properly in appropriate locations and ensures proper rotation of product. Additional duties include delivering supplies to the production line accurately and in a timely fashion.

The primary responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician position include:  
  • Responsible for prompt setup of paper converting equipment.
  • Identifies, monitors and performs troubleshooting for problems and breakdowns of equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs production equipment as needed in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.
  • Keeps records of work performed and completes history logs.
  • Assures operation of safe and functionally sound equipment.
  • Maintains and orders supplies and parts as needed.
  • Occasional light building maintenance.

Job Type:  Full-time 2nd Shift.  Hours possibly to be flexed.

 

Required Education:  High School Graduate or GED equivalent with minimum one year mechanical and electrical degree.

Required Experience:  Two years’ on-the-job experience with mechanical and electrical equipment.

Machining and fabrication experience helpful.  Driver’s license.

The primary responsibilities for the Production Supervisor position include:
  • Provides leadership, direction, organization and overseeing of production.
  • Ensures production functions are completed in accordance with established safety, quality and production standards.
  • Ensures accountability to policies and procedures, promise dates are met and data integrity is maintained.
  • Drives lean initiatives in the Operations group and participates in and supports process improvement efforts throughout the facility.
  • Supervises assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance and adequate training, equipment and motivation.
  • Completes related paperwork, reports and support duties.
  • Ensures machinery is operating properly.
  • Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training operations personnel, planning, assigning, and directing work; conducts employee evaluations.  Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Maintains the production schedule provided by the Production Scheduler and informs management of any significant problems or concerns.
  • Ensures the plant is clean, secure and well maintained.
  • Communicates regularly with staff, individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning operational issues.
  • Assists with other production activities as needed.
  • Reports to the Plant Manager

Required education

  • Associate Degree in Supervision and/or equivalent training and experience.

Required experience:

Two years of direct supervisory experience in manufacturing operations.

The position is responsible for all aspects of operating a bag-making machine with an in-line printing press. Duties include assisting with machine set-up, making adjustments to maintain product quality and consistency, packaging product produced by the machine and performing periodic visual and system based QC inspections to insure proper and consistent adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.

  • Produce and package product per customer specifications.
  • Conduct regular product QC checks against established standards and take appropriate corrective action in the case of a variance.
  • Manage quality, productivity and waste according to set standards.
  • Make machine adjustments as necessary to ensure proper settings and conditions are maintained to hold to product specification and quality standards.
  • Perform routine press maintenance, cleaning and adjustments.
  • Keep work area and machine organized and clean per standards.
  • Accurately complete necessary paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
