Job Summary:

The Pre-Production Graphics Assistant plays an integral role in our production team. This position will work within the art/sample department to provide digital proofs based on the needs of the customer and create packets that include flexographic plates, templates, and other pertinent information necessary for the machine operators to complete their jobs.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None


  • Setup of job travelers, order flexographic plates, prepare plates for printing and organize plate inventory
  • Prepare and print carton labels
  • Properly clean and store flexographic print plates
  • Verify customer’s production samples meet quality expectations
  • Pre-flight and troubleshoot customer supplied graphic files for printing
  • Transfer customer supplied vector artwork to templates using Adobe Illustrator
  • Rebuild unusable files, prepare digital proofs for customer approval and answer customer questions when necessary
  • Follow-up with customers regarding artwork or ink rollouts that were emailed
  • Send out production samples to customers
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High school diploma required
  • Digital arts-related degree required


  • 1-2 years in manufacturing industry, preferred
  • Minimum 2 years Adobe Illustrator, required

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs
  • Able to use computers, scanners, and other office equipment
  • Willingness to assist others
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work; sitting part of the time. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
